E-signing contracts created using Docue

How to e-sign documents created in the Docue -platform.

E-sign is suitable for most signing occasions. It is also the easiest way to sign. With e-sign the signee draws their signature with their finger or smart pen on their device. This signing method is equivalent to traditional signing in the UK and the EU.

The signature validity

Electronic signing is a recommended method to sign most legal documents, because it is easier to prove afterwards than traditional signing on paper. The technical information gathered by electronic signatures make it easier to prove the identity and time of signing than traditional signature.

When using e-sign, a timestamp is created to indicate when the signing was initiated and completed. This can not be proven in the same way when signing a paper the traditional way. Phone number or email address belonging to a certain person also gives a stronger indication that the signing was performed by the signee.

In the platform you can choose between e-signing or traditional signing. Both signature methods are legally valid. In this article we'll go through the electric signing.

1. When your document is ready to be signed, click "Finalise" at the bottom or top-right hand corner.

4. You can finalize your document in the "Settings" section. By setting a due date, the document will be cancelled if all parties have not signed the document before the due date. You can set automatic reminders, and remind signees if the document has not been signed.

You can also edit sender name and company, and add a personalized message which will be send to all signatories unless a personalized message has been set for the recipient. When you're done, click "Continue".

5. When you've filled out the necessary information, choose "Continue" and then either "Send invites now" or "Send invites manually" and "Confirm".

6. If you chose to send out the invites manually, you can sign the document yourself first before sending it. Open information by clicking the small arrow after the name, and then choose three dots from the down left corner. You can also send the signing invitations simultaneously to everyone by clicking Send signing invitations.
